Advantages of Bio-diesel

Bio-diesel is the only alternative non-polluting fuel for conventional diesel engines. Using it results in great advantages for the user, the vehicle's engine and the environment. Discover them for yourself!

Advantages for the user

  • It does not contain benzene or other cancerigenic aromatic substances.
  • It is not harmful or detrimental to your health.
  • It reduced foreign energy dependency.
  • It is not a dangerous item. Its ignition point is over 110 ºC
  • The production process is safer.
  • It is safe to handle when transporting and storing it.

Advantages for the engine

  • It is a very powerful lubricant and protects the engine.
  • It reduces noise.
  • It is a powerful detergent: it keeps the engine and the injectors clean.
  • It extends the life of the engine.
  • It improves combustion, by reducing soot emissions by nearly 55%.
  • It reduces wear and tear and maintenance costs.

Environmental advantages

  • It is produced from renewable raw materials.
  • It allows waste to be recycled (used vegetable oil).
  • Its plant component is easily biodegradable (approximately 21 days). It does not harm the soil or underground water in case of spillage.
  • It does not contain sulphur. It avoids Sox emissions (acid rain).
  • It emits less CO2 in its combustion.
  • Its combustion produces the same quantity of CO2 as the plants need to grow (CO2 closed cycle). Therefore, it avoids the greenhouse effect and helps to meet the Kyoto protocol.
  • It generates less smoke. The methyl ester molecule has more oxygen atoms than conventional diesel (11.7% m/m compared to 1.1% m/m).
  • Less pollution from vehicles that use it.

These advantages mean that we all win!
